The prominent and the most anticipated point of student’s life is the transition of the curriculum from school to college level. The Institution’s aim is to inculcate students through the induction program by which the new students acclimatize to their new roles and environment of the institution. As per the UGC’s-‘Guide to Student Induction Programme’, it should cover the different aspects of (i) Socializing (ii) Associating (iii) Governing and (iv) Experiencing - of study skills, small-group activities as well as creative and performing arts which is abbreviated as SAGE.

The Department of Commerce has made a best possible attempt to familiarize those aspects of ‘Student Induction Programme’ including the different activities and mentoring by the teachers. The programme started with lighting of the lamp by Principal, Vice-Principal, Heads of the Departments and other senior faculties. Principal, Dr. Kuldeep Dubey has emphasized on the purpose of the ‘Induction Programme’ and how to build bonds with other students and faculty members. He also described the process whereby the incumbents adjust to their college environment and regulations. Mr. Vaibhav Shrivastava, Head of the Department of Commerce has also addressed the students and highlighted their new roles and responsibilities with regard to various stakeholders of the same. He discussed on how to be ambitious and fulfill their dreams to make proud of their college and all others who associated with it.

The programme was followed by ‘The Friendship Day’ celebration with a gesture of new bonding by the senior students to incumbents. They performed different group dances, solo singing with musical instruments and duet dance performance. All the students attended were enthralled and got familiar with the institution’s encouraging environment.

The presentation of certificates of achievement and appreciation was carried out after the students’ performances. Mr. Vaibhav Shrivastava presented the certificates for the winners of the competitions, viz., (a) Debate competition on Privatization (b) Photography Competition (c) Learn with fun. The winners of the competitions are as follows

The ‘Students Induction Programme and Friendship Day – 2022-23’ ends by ‘Vote of thanks’. Mrs. Neetu Gupta, senior faculty of the Department and the programme in-charge has successfully organized and monitored the entire event along with the senior students of B.Com Ms. Saima Ganj and Ms. Tanya Nainani.
